The effectiveness of the umbilical cord blood storage

There has been a debate about the fact whether umbilical cord blood storage is actually effective in the later years of life. There are various views into the same issue. The first is that the sample of the blood taken here is of the time when the child is born. Over the years the organisms and the body go through a lot of changes. This results in the changes of the cell also. But the sample of the cells which were taken at the time of birth of the person does not change. Hence there is no assurance of the body reacting to the stem cell storage and the cells which were stored here. There are exceptions of the disease like leukemia where the samples of the bone marrow prove to be effective usually. Still there is not hundred per cent assurance of the same.
